This video is literally a cry for help from the dogs killed for their meat in China. Animals Asia Foundation recorded their final cries on a field trip to the notorious Hua Nam Live Animal Market in Guangzhou.

Last week I did a story on some of the atrocities that take place in China, specifically what Beijing is and has been doing to get ready for the Olympics and this goes right along with that.

There are no graphic images! This excellent video gets its point across without the use of the images of horror, the sounds are chilling enough.

Thank you Hilke for bringing this to my attention to share.

Dog siezed from Detriot dogfight As is the norm with the cruel sick bloodsport today, there were guns, drugs and cash, $27K, recovered at the raid at a double garage which was the makeshift dogfighting ring in Detroit early Monday. Fifty-three people were arrested, including 3 women and three juveniles, which were turned over to their parents.

The dogfight was just beginning as Wayne County Sheriff Wayne Evans, two dozen deputies, including the Sheriff’s Special Response Team, federal Drug Enforcement Administration agents and Michigan Humane Society officers, raided a two-car garage in the 200 block of Nevada between Woodward and John R.

Acting on a tip, they had tracked the mobile fighting ring down. Although investigators had known of the fighting and gambling operation for several days, fight locations and times continually shifted with spectators being notified by text message only hours before fight time. Dogfighting rings are notoriously hard to track down, especially during a fight, because there is so much secrecy involved.

“We found out last night and we moved,” said Wayne County Sheriff Warren Evans. “It was very much like a prize fight with a ring set up and betting going on.”

Alex Curtis Krause

Update 10/12/08 - One of Brutal Dog Killing Pair Gets Plea Deal

For two young Mankato/Litchfield men, Alex Curtis Krause and Braydon Charles Jerve, both 21, their 4th of July festivities included staking out Krause’s girlfriend’s family’s little Pomeranian, shooting it with an arrow, dropping a log on it’s head, then dumping its body in the garbage.

Ziegler’s parents, Tony and Heather Ziegler, became suspicious that Krause had done something to the dog after it disappeared. The Zieglers learned Krause had been staying at their house with their daughter while they were out of town. The dog, a Pomeranian, was gone when they returned.

Krause disliked the dog and suggested in the past that they get rid of it, the complaint said. He was asked about the dog when the Zieglers returned home and allegedly said the dog must have run away.

Mankato police received a tip last week that the dog had been killed in Lake Crystal and its body had been thrown into a garbage container at an apartment complex in the 500 block of Front Street. The Lake Crystal Police Department was contacted because the dog had been killed in that city.
