Alert – NJ Puppy Broker Posing as a Rescue on PetFinder.com

Complaints about sick puppies received from Ohio, New York and New Jersey

Be Aware of This Individual:

Vicki/Victoria Patterson, NJ Collie Rescue and Referral, Whitehouse, NJ 08889

http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/NJ315.html

This so-called rescue is operating like your run-of-the-mill pet store. It was confirmed in a conversation with the commercial kennel owner on June 23, 2008 that all or most of the purebred puppies listed on NJ Collie Rescue’s PetFinder website (http://tinyurl.com/4mo37g) were purchased from the MO breeder whose kennel name was superimposed on some of the pictures. In fact, the breeder stated she was under the impression that Vicki Patterson was a pet shop owner when she purchased the 12-14 week old puppies at prices “far less than the usual advertised prices” of $200 found on the website.

Patterson, advertising as NJ Collie Rescue and Referral, demands cash only for her ‘special rescue rates’ of $500 to $745! It’s also deceptive to state the puppies were ‘saved from auction’ when the MO breeder confirmed what we’ve known for years: that young puppies are rarely, if ever, sold at auctions - that most of the dogs found at puppy mill auctions are older, retired breeders. Reputable rescues attend auctions to buy these poor “used up” breeders to rescue, rehabilitate them and adopt them into approved, qualified homes. Plus, their adoption fees are much less than these pet-store prices.

And most importantly, Patterson/NJ Collie Rescue do not guarantee the health of the puppies once they are adopted. We all know that puppies born in commercial kennels, i.e. puppy mills, are highly prone to contagious, congenital and /or hereditary diseases and defects that can run into the thousands of dollars to treat or cure.

Visit this PetFinder forum link to read about previous problems associated with Patterson and NJ Collie Rescue: http://tinyurl.com/5f45b4

What You Can Do:

Please contact PetFinder.com and ask them to remove Vicki Patterson and NJ Collie Rescue & Referral. Allowing brokers to advertise and sell puppies on PetFinder.com defeats PetFinder’s purpose and mission and insults the reputable rescues who work honestly and tirelessly to find homes for thousands of unwanted and homeless animals.

* * NJCR&R Adoption Application
* * There rarely, if ever, are PUREBRED puppies that need rescue in the Tri State areas. That is because for the large part ,we all spay and neuter our pets This however, is not the case in other parts of the country. This dog you about to apply for was not born in this area of the country. All the puppies/dogs on our site have been TRANSPORTED to NJ , at great expense for you and your family to enjoy. They were either scheduled to be euthanized or sold at auctions. . . a fate worse than death. *****We FLY these dogs to NJ, mostly from MO., at great expense. As the airlines lay off employees and eliminate 10% of their flights due to surging fuel costs. . .they dramatically raise their shipping rates. The veterinarians have tripled the inoculations and routine office visits have sky-rocketed, yet all these puppies are ALL CURRENT on Inoculations, worming etc. Take a look at the cost of a pet shop pup. . .and even factoring the added expense of the FLIGHT to NJ, the adoption cost for these fortunate babies is very reasonable.

The adoption fee for the puppies is as follows:

Yorkie puppies $675 - $745

All other PUREBRED puppies $525.

Designer dogs: Puggle Sheltiepoo etc $500.

High Mix breed puppies $300.

This is payable in CASH only. Sorry we no longer accept *checks
*You are welcome to bring a check as long as you cash it before you get here!
All dogs have Micro chips, Veterinary Health certificates, UTD on Distemper, parvo, coccidia and other necessary inoculations. The are healthy happy and ready to bring your family a lifetime of love.
Taking all this into account, by submitting this application, you agree not to hold New Jersey Collie Rescue & Referral, its volunteers nor Victoria Patterson liable for any medical bills incurred for your adopted puppy/dog.
We do not own a shelter. All dogs and pups are living at private homes. Upon approval we will contact you via e mail to arrange a time for you to meet the pups. Visitation is by Appointment only!
We thank you for trying to help our wonderful doggies and look forward to meeting you!

UPDATE - 6/27/08

I just received this wonderful update and wanted to pass it along and thank everyone who worked to get the word out, write letter, emails and more!! Your efforts paid off!

Dear Rescuers and Animal Advocates,

As of this morning, June 27, 2008, the PetFinder website of NJ Collie Rescue and Referral/Vicki Patterson has been removed by PetFinder. We reported earlier this week that Vicki Patterson was selling puppies from a MO commercial kennel (puppy mill) under the guise of rescue. PetFinder completed its investigation yesterday and removed her from the site. We are very pleased with the decision and wish to thank ALL Rescues/Rescuers and advocates for contacting PetFinder. No one anticipated such an enormous response to the alert. Feel free to thank Kim at Kim@petfinder.com.

This was the first time in our 5 year history that we issued an alert about a rescue and it was not a decision entered into lightly. No one enjoys disparaging anyone in our rescue community but when deception is involved, we have a duty to rectify the situation, especially when the disreputable actions of one or a few taint all of us.

Rescue is the lifeline to death-row and unwanted, homeless animals and we should not and will not tolerate anyone in the rescue community undermining the thousands of reputable rescues who work so hard, oftentimes with little or no financial resources, to rescue and rehabilitate dogs (and other animals), provide them with safe shelter, feed and medically treat and socialize them, all out of compassion and sheer dedication.

Again, thank you for all you do for dogs and animals everywhere, and for keeping PetFinder safe from unscrupulous dealers and puppy profiteers!

    I had know about this person for awhile. Whitehouse is right down the road from me. There have been grumblings and reports on her for a few years here and there on some websites. I *think* (but am not sure) they are regulars on craigslist.

  2. by Admin, on June 25 2008 @ 11:44 am

    @AIR - Andrea, people like this really piss me off!! So many rescuers give everything to do what they do, they don’t profit except in the love they receive then you have pieces of trash like this, lying and scamming people. Lock her up and throw away the key!!

    Lock her up and throw away the key. I’m hip. How about IRS Form 3949-A

    Thanks for the great info here….We were almost headed there tomorrow morning to rescue a Yorkie. We will not be going now.

  7. by Mar, on June 28 2008 @ 7:11 pm

    Oh gosh, I wish I had seen this wed. We picked up a Yorkie from her on Thursday. I fell for her story. Our vet checked out the puppy yesterday and general health is good but he does have an upper respiratory infection which I am treating with antibiotics. Well, I guess I did rescue him from her. I would have never gone there if I had known. I hope she takes care of the puppies she has left or someone intervenes on their behalf.

  8. by Admin, on June 28 2008 @ 7:50 pm

    @Mar - Sorry you got taken in by her and I do hope your puppy is ok. It’s a sad thing when people pull scams like that and give good honest hardworking rescuers a bad name.

    @Brian and Nora - I’m glad you saw this time. there are so many dogs and puppies out there in desperate need of a good home. I’m sure you’ll find one that you can give your love and a wonderful home to.

  9. by jess, on July 1 2008 @ 2:36 pm

    wish i would have seen this a week ago. i fell for the story as well, tho i was alittle weary of the steep costs for the puppy i still wanted to rescue her and i got a mini eskimo dog from her a week ago…. and yeah it says she doesnt accept cash, but she “bent” the rules for me and let me pay half in cash.

  10. by Tracy, on July 2 2008 @ 10:33 am

    I bought an 8week old Border Collie Mix puppy from her in March of 2007. She told me that puppies were from a kill shelter in Georgia. She handed me his shot paperwork from the Shelter after the entire transaction and told me not to contact the Shelter in Georgia, because they wouldn’t remember which batch of puppies and not to bother them. This seemed to fit the story of the “rescue” and how could I hand this puppy back to her? He has been in great health all of this time. However after leaving her house that day, I have checked her website every week for the last year and few months. It just seemed like a puppy mill to me. I never bought a dog so quickly, but I was swept away with emotion. However, I’ve always felt like something was wrong with Victoria Patterson’s rescue. I love my dog and he is truly a very smart Border Collie/mix and I am glad to have rescued him from that place. I just feel so taken by this woman and paying $250 for a rescue puppy that needed all of his shots and neutering, etc.

  11. by Admin, on July 2 2008 @ 10:44 am

    @jess - Jess, I’m sorry that you got taken in, but don’t feel too bad, many, many others did as well. I hope your puppy does well and is healthy

    @Tracy - Tracy, I’m glad they your Border Collie mix is a happy and healthy puppy but also sorry you got taken in by her scam.

    *****

    At this point the best thing that we all can do is just to get the story out there so less and less people are taken in by this scam artist. There are so many wonderful rescues with people who work so hard. They pour their hearts, souls and about every penny they have into rescuing, loving and caring for those they rescue.

    Please people, if you want to add a furry family member, do your homework. Too many people are out there lining their pockets with money reaped from neglected and abused dogs.Working together, we must do everything we can to make this suffering end!

    I thank everyone who is taking the time to comment and share your story. Please, help to get the word out. Let’s shut her down!

    just another thought…. when i got my puppy last week from her…. she actually gave me the name and number of another lady named paula who had the puppy and thats where i went and got her from… i dont know if anyone else has had to go somewhere else other than to victorias to get their puppy… but if not maybe someone should also look into her….

  13. by Mar, on July 2 2008 @ 11:09 am

    Out of curiosity, are there any rules governing rescues. I heard of another rescue who had puppies in Middletown and were also selling them for over 600, would only take cash and they also said that they were rescued from a puppy mill. I can see rescues needing money to take care of sick and old dogs but to acquire puppies to sell as rescues just doesn’t seem right. Also, just to update you on our Yorkie puppy, he is on day 6 of antibiotics and he is definitely feeling much better.

  14. by jess, on July 2 2008 @ 11:11 am

    @Mar -
    thats good to hear…. im taking my puppy to the vet tonight so i guess ill find out then if shes okay or not?? she seems fine, but shes veryy skinney…. but paula, the lady whose house i went to get the pup said it was becuase my puppies sister supposively ate all her food??? how true that is, i dont know???

  15. by Tracy, on July 2 2008 @ 11:19 am

    @jess -
    I went directly to Victoria Patterson’s house. The puppies and 1 adult rescue dog were kept in a large,heated shed in the back yard. She had horses too. She looked like an animal lover. At this time, the puppies had all been rescued from kill shelters in the South. There were no puppies there that were quoted to have been rescued from puppy mills. I have watched her site EVERY week since I bought my puupy from her and she seemed to switch over to the rescued dogs from the puppy mills just recently according to her site. Previously she posted that all puppies were $250 and cash only and were from kill shelters in the South.

  16. by jess, on July 2 2008 @ 11:22 am

    mine was supposively rescued from an auction house in MO and i had to pay 525 for her… she wanted only cash but it was a sunday so i had half cash and half check and she was fine with it but i never actually met with her or talked with her or anything

  17. by Tracy, on July 2 2008 @ 11:33 am

    @jess -
    Something didn’t sit well with me about the whole transaction, but I was already in love with my puppy. The puppy chose me right away and I picked him up and never put him back down. I was holding him and never said that I wanted him and Victoria put a new collar on him and gave me a new leash. It was pushy, but she knew I wasn’t about to put the puppy down. My husband still laughs about this all of the time. I was too emotional to buy a dog that day, but in any case it has worked out very well. It’s just that I’ve always felt taken and have kept watching her site for something to happen and it has.

  18. by Mar, on July 2 2008 @ 12:01 pm

    @Tracy -
    Wow consider yourself lucky you got a collar and leash as well. We paid 675, no collar or leash. Ours was also supposedly rescued from an auction house in Missouri. My husband is also laughing. All these years and I am still giving people the benefit of the doubt. When will I learn????

  19. by Tracy, on July 2 2008 @ 12:54 pm

    @Mar -
    Just heard back form Petfinder and they said that NJ Collie and Rescue did take in many dogs from shelters in the Southeast. At least that part makes me feel better. I hope everything works out for you and your puppy!

    Wow, I am bummed out too that I bought an Aussie puppy from her a couple of weeks ago, we didn’t think her story really measured up and she was wierd. She actually got in a fight with some people about her process while we were there and kicked them off her property. We almost walked out because of her attitude toward the other people but our girls had already found a puppy they wanted and we felt lets not make the dog suffer because she is crazy, lets resuce him from her! We knew we could give him a good home no matter where he came from. He is being treated for kennel cough though. Now I don’t know if we can even believe the papers he came with regarding his background and shots already supposedly given.
    Just wondering does anyone think a bunch of us could get together and try to get any of our money back from her including vet bills or would it be a waste of time and additional money to do it? My girls watch animal cops all the time, I would love for them to go out and shut her down.

    I adopted my dog from Vickie three years ago. She said she brought her up from a West Virginia shelter. She was already 9 mo old. She had shot gun pellets in her legs & was obviously mistreated. She has since become the most loving, wonderful dog I have ever had. I only paid $150 for her. Maybe Ms Patterson made some bad decisions since then but I thank God for my dog!!!I remember she was crying when I drove away because she said my dog was so sweet & she would miss her.

  24. by Ashley, on July 9 2008 @ 9:48 pm

    OMG. I typed in the name of the puppy rescue today because I wanted to show my friend her site on Petfinder and could only find this and other compaints on sites…

    My boyfriend and I just got our two puppies from her less than three weeks ago (A Shitzu and a Puggle) and were COMPLETELY taken in by her story once we got there…
    However, I sent in that “adoption application” and was approved less than 3 hours later and when I called my landlord and references to find out if anyone had been called, they all say they hadn’t, so I was a little sketched out by it all… but we had had so many applications denied because we rented our home and didn’t own that we went anyway… She did have over 40 puppies in that small work shed outside, but she had an answer for EVERY question I asked and seemed like such an animal lover that I assumed it was ok… Now I’m so worried… our dogs have had diarrhea for about a week now and everyone just kept saying it must be a puppy thing, but now I’m taking them STRAIGHT to the vet tomorrow. Do you think those papers she gave us on their shots were fakes? Wouldn’t be surprising since they’re not on any kind of letterhead, just typed up on a piece of paper. Has anyone found serious illnesses with their puppies??

  25. by Mar, on July 10 2008 @ 9:29 am

    I just went on her web site and the Yorkie on the picture looks just like the one I “Adopted” I can’t believe it. Exactly what she told us is what is written on the site.
    Ashley- My dog was on antibiotics for 10 days for an upper respiratory infection. Heis better but still has an occasional Hack like a little old man. Definitely get your dogs checked out by a vet. I had called her after our vet checked the puppy out to also inquire about a micro chip. She said my dog didn’t have one and my vet said he didI tried contacting the chip place to see if the breeder had any info but was told that they only have info when they register the dogs. So you can microchip dogs but they don’t take any info until its paid for. I also heard from someone that adoption fees were tax deductible. So what if we all claim our fees during tax time and make sure we write her name and rescue in big capital letters. Does anyone know who the Yorkie breeder is? Earlier blog said that it was superimposed on the picture. Thanks

  26. by Ashley, on July 10 2008 @ 9:35 am

    Mar,

    I’m so sorry to hear about your puppy :-(

    I’m taking them to the vet this afternoon and praying everything will be ok. What is the new link to her site? I’d be interested to see if my puppies pictures were still up.

    Ashley

  27. by Mar, on July 10 2008 @ 9:42 am

    @Ashley -
    This is her site http://www.siteskins.net/purebreedpuppyrescue/1.html. Our puppy is doing so much better that we are calling him Peppe short for Giuseppe. Good luck at the doctors today with your dogs. Keep us posted.

  28. by jess, on July 10 2008 @ 9:47 am

    i took my puppy to the vet last week… shes on medicine for diahrea and the vet says she has some technical term but its that her back knee pops out when she moves… she says that she may grow out of it.. but it doesnt seem to affect the pup cuz shes jumpin and runnin fine so i will just have to wait. vicki said she had a microchip in the pup however the vet found no chip..

  29. by Mar, on July 10 2008 @ 10:54 am

    @jess - Jess What breed puppy did you adopt? Vicki said our puppy had no microchip but it did and when I called her questioning if she had given me the papers for the wrong dog she insisted it was the right dog and she just misplaced the papers about the microchip.

  30. by jess, on July 10 2008 @ 10:56 am

    american eskimo

  31. by Ashley, on July 10 2008 @ 3:01 pm

    Just got back from the vet and both puppies have worms… need 10 days of meds…

    The Shitzu does have a microchip but he didn’t come with any paperwork so I’m guessing whether they had chips or not, she doesn’t have paperwork period, because she told me a blue piece of paper she gave me was for the microchip, but the vet said it was a dog registration and nothing more.

    When I looked up the list of shots she gave me, I found that although some of them are interchangeable between many types of animals, there were at least two that were used mainly for horses, NOT DOGS. The vet said he had never heard of some of the companies the shots came from so he had to look them up and they are the cheap, generic brand that isn’t as effective. And the paperwork was wrong… things they listed under vaccines instead of Worming and vice versa. Not so comforting… Here’s hoping, they’ll be ok anyways…

    So far, other than the worms, the vet thinks they are ok but that we need to bring them in again in a month just to do a follow up. I’m so upset I could drive up to that woman’s house just to yell at her. I love my puppies and can’t believe how poorly they were treated and that I was duped into thinking she was some kind of saint.

  32. by pco, on July 18 2008 @ 10:31 am

    i actually bought a puppy from her back in november, and it died of parvo. parvo is an EXTREMELY contagious disease that contaminated the shed, yard, surroundings at vicki’s house. i am glad that none of the pups mentioned on this site seem to have the disease, but i’d like to warn other who are considering “rescuing” from vicki. she sells VERY sick puppies who don’t have a chance at life, and profits from it. she’s an evil woman and i hope she stops killing puppies just to make a few dollars. she is NOT an animal lover, in my opinion.

  33. by Lori, on July 19 2008 @ 1:59 pm

    I bought 2 sisters from her back in October, she knew fully well that parvo was in her kennel…I notified her of it..I was lucky that i noticed the puppies right away that something was not RIGHT!!!..Took my Maggie right away to hospital with 24 hour vigil right by herside…She was the lucky one…Know doubt to me that she knew ,,but continues to profit…We actually wanted to get the other siblings to vet them, but she said they were sold..I doubt that also.Someone should dig around her property…would be sure they would find remains… Very sad situation..

  34. by Tracy, on July 19 2008 @ 2:58 pm

    Is there any criminal investigation and/or charges on Victoria and her rescue or was her rescue website only taken off Petfinder due to their findings? I think we should all ban together and file a complaint to the NJ SPCA, IRS, etc., etc.

  35. by Admin, on July 19 2008 @ 9:19 pm

    @Tracy - I don’t believe there’s been anything done legally, just to try to get her to stop misrepresenting herself, scamming people and from many posts about the puppies she’s sold, selling sick puppies. I do think that people who bought puppies from her that are sick could possibly do something. She shouldn’t be allowed to continue to get away with what she’s doing, that’s for sure.

    This is very upsetting. Too many posters with too many problems with this *Rescue*. I urge all the posters who have gotten dogs from Vicki Patterson and have had problems to contact the NJ State Attorney General and voice your complaints. Hopefully you have kept all appropriate records, vet bills, emails, etc. for they will ask for them. Enough complaints will prompt an investigation. In addition, since she is accepting cash only, an investigation could entail Tax Fraud as well.

    Also, here is a related investigation and conviction. Please google Gina De’Lynn Price. Price was convicted of wire and mail fraud, concealing her income, and filing false income tax returns stemming from her puppy-selling business.

  37. by Admin, on July 21 2008 @ 10:12 am

    @AIR - Andrea, thank you so much for posting this information. Can always count on you!

    And yes, I did see that Price was convicted and definitely applauded that! It’s beyond time that people who do this start facing some consequences for their actions!

    I just want to say thank you all for trying to finally putting this thief out of business.

    Three years ago I adopted a black lab/retriever/collie mix from her. After having the puppy for two days we were down in Red Bank Vet Hospital and the puppy was diagosed with Parvo virus, with very little chance of survival. After contacting Vikki several times with no luck, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I contacted the ASPCA in Hunterdon County and send them to her residence. All the puppies were already gone and she would not let them in the barn where she kept the puppies in horrible living conditions. At the time I believe there was probably close to 50 puppies in different pens. The doctors at Red Bank told me that chances were all the puppies that were in contact with mine, all probably had parvo and Patterson really should contact anyone else who adopted through her. She never got back to me.

    I filed a small claims action against NJ Collie and Vikki Patterson for the thousands of dollars we incurred by Red Bank Vet Hospital for the three weeks our dog spent there. We settled with her for $500 and she cried poverty and that she was only a rescue and was trying to help the animals. After reading these posts, I get sick to my stomach.

    The best part of the story is that our dog is now 3 years old and very happy and healthy. I am sure there were many other dogs that were not as lucky as she was. We had the means to help her, most people do not.

    Keep the efforts going….

    Wow do i feel like a sucker, I got a mini dachshund from her in June. Pup is a doll and aside from worms doing well. I got the line of bull about the puppymill in Missouri and the rescue from the auction in Georgia. I thought the $525 was high but the dog was just what i wanted. Oh well live and learn I guess. I hope she gets what she deserves–fines. What a scammer.

    Read all comments- agree with wanting this “person” to pay for her crimes and as many of you know- I enjoy disturbing the cosmos so decided to see if her site was still up and running and SURPRISE - it is but not the posted link. The site addy that I found her on is:

    http://www.siteskins.net/purebreedpuppyrescue/4.html

    The same crappy BS on the home page about rescuing these pups from stores-breeders-etc and her high prices are a paltry sum with her costs for vaccines- spay/neuters-etc. On the second page of adoptables near the top of the page is a contact email address but it’s almost invisible against the black background but if clicked- it becomes visible.

    ATTENTION TO ANYONE WHO HAS RECENTLY ADOPTED A DOG FROM VICKI PATTERSON!

    So we just got back from the Vet because our dogs were not getting any better and we were concerned that it wasn’t just a case of diarrhea. We asked for another Vet at our place who was MUCH more thorough and he ran several extra tests and found that our dogs had Giardia and Coxidia (we already knew they had coxidia, but apparently when they are born into an environment with it, it takes more than just two weeks of meds to get rid of it)… These parasites are EXTREMELY contagious and it seems our dogs have had them since we adopted them in late June. Sometimes dogs can not even show signs of having these parasites, but if your puppy’s stool is runny or less solid than you think it should be, ask your vet to test for this since it’s not on the common list of things they test for. I just want to make sure everyone’s puppies are safe and don’t end up as sick as ours were!

    I’ve spoken with my lawyer and we are mulling over the idea of suing… or at least filing a more formal complaint with the state… I’ve spent close to $700 in Vet fees in just a month to fix all the issues our puppies have and although we had anticipated to spend money on vets, this is getting ridiculous. I hope everyone else’s pups are doing ok. Good luck to you all!

    Also, please see the latest, she’s now selling puppies through a classified ad and lists herself as a “Dachshund Rescue”. The info and actual ad is shown at the bottom of the post above.

    I REALLY urge posters with these horrible problems to complain to the NJ State Attorney General (see my earlier comment). And someone else took her to small claims court which is not a bad idea either. But enough complaints to the state prompts an investigation. One that she can’t hide from. There are too many people coming forward about this “Rescue” and the sick dogs that were purchased.

    @Ashley - Ashley, Thanks for the info. I can’t believe that woman. Our puppy was also adopted at the end of June but he had an upper respiratory infection. He still gets an occasional cough. They must have been in the shed at the same time. Our daughter started the mission on rescuing a dog and it is disgusting to think that people are taking advantage of people who are trying to do the right thing for a dog. A good experience for my daughter now turned into a lesson on a horrible person, taking advantage of both animals and humans. Good luck with your dogs

    Just so you know… I work for an internet company and a way to help get the word out there is to post her information in as many places as possible with a link to this site and certain keywords like her name, phone number, etc…

    That way, people who may want to double check her credentials will go to Google and type in “PUREBRED PUPPY RESCUE” and she won’t be the only thing that comes up anymore… you can even insert “VictoriasVanners@gmail.com” or “Victoria Patterson” and that way, even if her site comes up first, there will be sites following it that has this info on it. It’s called search engine optimization.

    Who knew my boring old work could come in handy right about now lol?
    Anyways, I’m doing it on my blog so that more people can be informed. Anyone else who knows of any blogs for dogs, should leave a comment with those types of keywords and warnings and then we’ll have a chance at stopping her at least via the internet. I’m also posting craigslist ads warning people of her… and contacting craigslist and the website server she is using for her site. I tried to call the NJ State Attorney but the phone just rang and then hung up on me :-( I’ll try that again later I guess.

    @Ashley -
    hey i just want to say thanx for the info about your dog having Giardia . I took my pup to the vet yesterday for her shots and i mentioned it to them and they did a test for it and she was positive for it. so now her medical bills are getting very high because of all these problems she is incurring from the b*tch. im getting very annoyed with this lady and im calling the attorney general. i used to work for the att gen in PA so hopefully ill get somewhere with it….

    I posted previously about my adventures with Vicky. Just wanted to let you know my dog has giardia too. She had 3 parasites in her and is still being treated 6 weeks after I “adopted” her.

    Hey—

    I’m glad I was able to help anyone that I did…

    If anyone else has had their dogs test positive for anything, I know I and I’m sure others, would really appreciate it if you could let us know what so we can have our dogs tested as well. Sometimes it can be something that a Vet will only test for if you ask him/her to… so any information you give can be helpful.

    If you have had a puppy (adopted from Patterson) get sick, it’s important post your story on this or other sites. It’s informative to all of us…

    Good luck with your puppies :-)

    Hi everyone, So my Yorkie has recovered from the URI and did not have any diarrhea but my vet tells that he has cryptorcid of both testes which is so very rare or is it possible that he has already been neutered. I was already blown off by Patterson when I called her and told her the puppy had a chip when she told me he didn’t so I can’t imagine that I will get a straight answer from her. I hate to have him go through another surgery only to find out that he was already neutered. Does anyone have any ideas??????????? I called the chip company to see if they could tell me who purchased the chip but they told me they have no records until the chip is registered.

    we bought a “aussie” from her too, probably the same litter- kennel cough, too…
    hmmmm

    our puppy is a wonderful ball of love but we question if she is a real full aussie- and not a border mix…

    victoria was a strange woman indeed, and i feel duped and a bit stupid… but our pup is sitting here smiling, so i don’t feel as bad as i could…

    hmm…
    but those vet bills!

    I am in tears after reading all of these entries. We adopted our puppy from Vicky in June. We thought she was strange and pushy, but we fell in love with the puppy. After bringing him to the vet, we found he tested positive for giardia and coxidia. That was bad enough, but the worst of it was that he infected our 5 year old dog who has an auto immune disease and is on immunosuppressants. She became very ill, and we called Vicky just to let her know that she should treat the other puppies for these parasites. She couldn’t have cared less, told us this was very common. We felt so stupid for having trusted this person, for putting our older dog at risk, an
