Will Ella Ever Receive Justice?? VIDEO

In a horrific case of abandonment and starvation, Christine Abrams, left her beautiful 2 year old white German Shepherd, Ella, locked in a crate and just walked away. In January 2008, Abrams left the house and abandoned Ella to her cruel fate of a slow and painful death of starvation.
You can almost imagine Ella, sitting, waiting, hunger and thirst gnawing at her as painfully as the isolation and loneliness. She could see and smell food just a few feet away and pushed her paws through the wire door again and again to try to reach it without success. She must have wondered where her beloved master, Christine was, thinking that every sound was her returning to let her out of this prison. Days passed, her once hopeful eyes glazed with pain and hunger, her body pestered by flies and she weakened. Hope and strength continue to dwindle as Ella’s body begins to feed on itself until there is nothing more to give. Finally, mercifully, Ella’s body and heart
give out, the hunger, the thirst, the pain, the loneliness too much for a living creature to take.
In her cruel careless abandonment, this is what Christine Abrams subject Ella, the dog she professed to love so much, to.
In March of 2008, a neighbor, worried that he hadn’t see Abrams or Ella for some time, looked in the house and saw Ella, dead in her crate. The neighbor, Robert Arishon, even more concerned for Abrams safety, called the police. When police arrived and investigated the house, seeing Ella dead locked in her crate, the flies and the smell, even outside, overwhelming, they too feared for Abrams. Worried that Ella was not the only body in the house, the police entered. No Christine, just the body of Ella, a once beautiful German Shepherd, dead and decomposed, just a few feet away from a bag of dog food.
Eventually they did find Christine Abrams, 5 hours later, at a house just six miles away. She told police she locked Ella in a crate at the old home because her new roommate did not like dogs and that she knew what would happen if Ella was left without food or water for an extended period of time. she showed no remorse for the dog’s cruel fate.
Originally charged with one count of felony cruelty, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine, prosecutors in the case reduced the charge to a first-degree misdemeanor — which carries a penalty of only one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Animal advocates across the nation are angry and outraged. They have protested and written letters. And now this case take another nasty turn. The defense is trying to get all the evidence thrown out and the case dismissed!!
At court on Friday, Abrams sat stoically and her defense attorney, Andrew Stine, hammered away at the concerned neighbor, Robert Arishon, and the police. He claims that the evidence was obtained illegally without a search warrant and therefore is inadmissible.
Police should have gotten a search warrant before entering Christine Abrams’ home, even though there was a “smell of death,” large flies inside the house and reports from a neighbor that the 30-year-old woman hadn’t been seen for two months, her attorney said Friday.
During a five-hour hearing, attorney Andrew Stine told a Brevard judge that police conducted an
illegal search March 12 when they crawled through a window of Abrams’ Cocoa home and found her dog Ella, a 2-year-old white German shepherd, dead in a locked crate with no food or water.
Officers should not have entered the locked home unless they thought someone inside was in immediate danger or that evidence was about to be destroyed, Stine said.
But finding the dog only heightened their concerns about Abrams’ well-being, Cocoa police Officer Jeff Aiken said.
Brevard County Judge Kelly Jo McKibben did not rule Friday on Stine’s motion to toss out the evidence. She will hear arguments from both sides July 4 before deciding. No trial date has been set. (Orlando Sentinel)
Will Ella receive justice? At this point, only time will tell. One thing for sure, there is no excuse that anyone can come up with that makes what Abrams did to Ella acceptable in any way! This was a cruel and heartless act by a cruel and heartless person!
I can only hope that this Independence Day frees us from idiocy and theatrics of a well paid defense attorney and brings sanity to rule, that we will be on a road to Justice for Ella, an innocent and loving dog that did no harm.
I echo; NO PLEAS FOR ABRAMS!!
Justice for Ella!!
Jail Time for Abrams!!
It’s time to start punishing the criminals and stop giving them more rights than the victims ever receive!

Ella’s story is the most saddest story I have ever encountered in my 53 years. I will never take her off my blog. There will always be a page for her. For Abrams to read. For all Abrams’ family, friends, and co-workers to read. For all future *suitors* to read. For all future *employers* to read.

@AIR - Andrea, I couldn’t agree with you more! I have followed this from the beginning and it just affected my so deeply that it was hard to even write about. It took me hours to finally put this together between tears and anger. I hope this story follows her forever and everyone knows what kind of a person she really is!

Sometimes I wonder!!! All this POS had to do was give the dog to shelter so that she could live out her life to it’s fullest…at least she would have been alive!
How in the hell can someone do this? BTW she doesn’t look undernourished!!
I hope the Jugde makes the right decision to put her away for a very long time!
I have GSD rescue for 6 yrs! I love her with all my heart and would never, never think of anything but to give her the best quality of life she deserves! She was abused and I’m her fourth owner…

OMG, I haven’t stopped crying since I read this. I will never, ever understand how people can do this to something so completely trusting and innocent. All I can imagine is that poor baby trying to get to that dog food left just out of reach! Why, why, why??? My God, there are so many other options. When I look at her picture and see those beautiful eyes, I can only imagine what a beauty she was. I hope Abrams gets the max and is haunted for the rest of her life for what she did. As for Ella, I know she is happy and with friends at the Rainbow Bridge. Love you Ella!

Hi everybody I to like a few of you am having trouble writing about this because it makes me so sad about the way that poor dog had to die it is such a shame I mean you know that poor dog know what was in that bag just a few feet awayand you could bet she could smell it one thing I don,t under stand is why she would not let someone else give the dog the love it needed and wanted she was so selfish that she did not want the dog to love anyone but her that is so sad …….

This sick good for nothing does not deserve to even live. The defense attorneys are just as sick. When is America going to wake up and insist these elected judges take a stand against these cold uncaring non=humans and throw away the key. Personally, I’d rather meet her right here in Los Angeles in an alley and I guarantee, she would never do such a cruel horrible act on a loving dog again. No I would not kill her, I would gladly lock her in a crate in an abandoned warehouse and let her look at food six feet away from her and walk away. She deserves the same fate. I wonder what she’ll do when she finds another loser that doesn’t like children if any child is unfortunate to have her for a mother when she does not even belong to the human race? Please folks, check on abandoned homes that may have pets locked up in them. I have and have found two cats and three dogs in three different homes and I took them and I am not in jail. Do not be afraid to be a voice for the voiceless.

Well,so much for the break..Like everyone else, the fact that beautiful Ella stared at a damn bag of food as she starved to death is almost too much to take!!It is too much to take!!Here comes the tears again..What kind of a monster does this?!How could anyone do such a thing?!Hopefully she gets time in the clink, but that will not make me feel any better about it..Only her butt in a crate with food 6 feet away will..Fly free Ella!!
by Barbara Trimble, on June 30 2008 @ 4:21 pm
Oh Kerry, I know exactly how you feel! I haven’t been ablet to stop the tears ever since I read what that horrible POS did to innocent Ella and then tormented her by leaving her to die all the while staring at a bag of dog food. I don’t know what kind of person does such a thing!!!! I just can’t get passed this one. It breaks my heart and I hope that bitch, Christine Abrams gets exactly what she deserves!!!! Personally, I would love to administer it myself!
by marcy becker, on June 30 2008 @ 6:39 pm
HI!
Article doesn’t say what state this happened in! I would write the judge, PROTEST!!!
THIS IS ONE SICK BITCH!!!

Yet another example of human compassion! Poor Ella, how she suffered. I certainly do hope the judge is compassionate enough. What Ella’s owner did was total cruelty to animals. Ella suffered terribly til the good Lord took her home and Ella’s owner shows no remorse, just did not care. Unbelievable, the intelligence of some of the human race. God bless Ella!

This happened in Brevard County,Florida. Her attorney is trying to have all the media removed from the courtroom & wants to be rid of the judge also, it’s just stalling techniques. There are animal activists picketing outside the courthouse, the more she & her attorney stall the more attention it gets & more people learn what a lowlife she is.

Ella
What a beauty you were
So much trust to give
Who would have known
Loyal and Faithful
A true companion
You did what was expected
Who would have know
Your owner failed; sweet Ella
Sweet Ella you were there for her
Now we need to be there for you
Tears are falling sweet Ella
Tears of sadness and disbelief
You could not speak; sweet Ella
We will speak for you; sweet Ella
